A Tribute To Grace Jones
Who’ll be the most popular music star in 2009? Well, it’ll be Michael Jackson, eventhough his life ended inglorious and very sad this year. Last year, another star from the 80s had a glorious comeback: Grace Jones! She turned 60, released a great album and made some impressive live shows. Worth to pay tribute to her, like Magnum 38 is doing. During Magnum 38’s visit in Tokyo this year in January, in his usual manner, he woke up drunken and fond himself under the table in any Karaoke Bar in Shibuya. Somebody punched him in his side and gave him another Vodka. He couldn´t believe who he saw: The legendary Miss Grace Jones ! After some more Vodka he asked in his naive and charming way, if she would be up to a collaboration, if he is allowed to tribute his next EP to her. She just said: “Sweety, do everything you want”, and tried to push him to leave the bar to head the hotel. Break! He passed out, woke up and thought he was dreaming. His friends just commented: „You missed your greatest chance ever, dude!“ Magnum 38 is the unpredictable guy on Shitkatapult/Music and now on Tigerbass. After he played guitar in some independent bands he started his electronic producer career with glitchy breakbeat tracks. Now he surprises us with a tribute to disco legend Grace Jones. He has always been a fan of her dark and androgynous voice, of her as a person in general. Before thousands of Michael Jackson Remixes will be spread all over the world, listen to his hurray to her: “A Tribute to Grace Jones”. MediaFire: Magnum 38 – Suffer MediaFire: Magnum 38 – Slave
